Words cannot describe how I feel every single time I see the video of that oil spill in the Gulf. Like you, I feel a wide range of emotions, from deep sadness to righteous anger. How could they have let this happen? I pray the people affected by this tragedy get everything coming to them in order to make up for the loss. Just as BP created a gusher resulting in damage, I pray that all of those hurt by this will get a Gusher of justice and restitution. While watching the oil Gush from the earth, I also thought about the millions of people throughout this country who are still dealing with the effects of recession and learning to live on less. I asked God to allow us to let this tragic moment also be a teachable moment. What I am about to tell you I have also shared in part on my blog (see “Gusher” at www.edmontgomery.net). I stuck a straw in a juice box, you know, those things our kids love so well. Unfortunately, after I had poked that tiny straw in that tiny hole, I accidentally squeezed the box too tight and you know what happened next. That’s right - my own private GUSHER. Now, imagine drilling a hole in planet earth and the pressure from the earth’s accumulated abundance is released. What happens? Well, let’s just say my juice box gusher stopped - the oil gusher didn’t. Here’s what I thought about… There is incalculable abundance all around us and within us. I call this the abundance of God. I believe this abundance is invisible or at least not easily discerned and not laying in plain sight. I believe it is tapped into through the spiritual dimension – the Super (natural) so to speak. I believe there are untapped resources around us everyday. Could it be that God is waiting for us to breakthrough with an act of faith? I’m talking about YOU starting to d-r-e-a-m again! Yes, even in times of crisis, you can’t stop dreaming. In fact, it is in the time of crisis that greatness is born. How close are you to accomplishing your dream? BIG CHALLENGES CAN ONLY BE OVERCOME BY BIGGER DREAMS. I recently challenged some of the members and friends of our ministry to look for that “I didn't expect this …" moment. Within the next 60 to 90 DAYS, I’m going to be praying in a special direction for those who will join with me. For the next 90 days, I’m expecting three (3) things on your behalf:
